Karen Whyte is a Canadian artist who depicts scenes of wilderness with oil on canvas and charcoal drawings. These paintings of lakes and rivers in Gatineau Park, Algonquin Park and Canada's shield country are her interpretations of places she has canoed and explored.

Karen graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Ottawa and exhibits her work in solo and group shows. She is from Halifax, Nova Scotia and works from her home studio in Ottawa.

Artist Statement: I am particularly interested in the transition zone between land and water, the edges that represent the spiritual and physical interrelationship of life on our planet.
